Happy Day Of First Fruits!
He Is Risen!
Joh 20:11 But Miryam was standing outside by the tomb weeping. Then as she wept, she stooped down to the tomb,
Joh 20:12 and saw two messengers in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of יהושע had been laid.
Joh 20:13 And they said to her, “Woman, why do you weep?” She said to them, “Because they took away my Master, and I do not know where they laid Him.”
Joh 20:14 And having said this, she turned around and saw יהושע standing, but she did not know that it was יהושע.
Joh 20:15 יהושע said to her, “Woman, why do you weep? Whom do you seek?” Thinking He was the gardener, she said to Him, “Master, if You have carried Him away, say to me where You put Him, and I shall take Him away.”
Joh 20:16 יהושע said to her, “Miryam!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher).
Joh 20:17 יהושע said to her, “Do not hold on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Elohim and your Elohim.’ ”
According to The Scriptural Method of reckoning time, today, paganism’s 2nd of May, 2022, is the 16th Day of the 1st Month of Scripture and therefore the Day of First Fruits, i.e. the Wave Sheaf Offering of the new barley crop, which is one of the 7 Annual Moedim commanded by YHWH.
While it was indeed the 1st Day of the Week it most certainly wasn’t Resurrection Sunday! Scriptural days are numbered, they are not profaned with the paganistic deification of the ‘host of heaven’ as are the weekdays of the Gregorian Calendar of the Roman Catholic Church!
When all is said and done Messiah Yahusha will have fulfilled each and every one of the 7 Annual Moedim as He executes His obligations according to the Covenant of Redemption, for the salvation of ALL MANKIND, which He entered into with His Father before the foundations of the world were ever laid.
The three Spring Festivals of Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread and First Fruits have already been fulfilled in that He became the Passover Lamb having given His life by shedding His blood as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of ALL MANKIND, He became our Deliverer as He set Israel free from the bondage of Egyptian slavery and even more importantly as He has delivered us from the bondage of our own sins. And He also fulfilled the First Fruits offering when He ascended to heaven shortly after His resurrection on the day of First Fruits.
We can see this if we’re discerning in the 1st Chapter of Colossians. Speaking of Messiah Yahusha it is written…
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
In other words Messiah Yahusha is the First Fruits of the restoration of the created world.
I believe there is more to the story here than most will see. The association between Messiah Yahusha and the First Fruits offering of the barley crop demands a reckoning. Barley is well known as a common man’s grain, whereas wheat is understood as the grain of royalty. So why is Messiah Yahusha fulfilling the common man’s First Fruit grain offering of barley? I believe this is reflective of the fact that Messiah Yahusha is the First Fruit of ALL MANKIND, which is the fruit that follows after the First Fruit, i.e. eventually there is more fruit to come, much, much more fruit to come, as in the entire race of Adam!
The Day of First Fruits is also the day the counting of the omer begins, which leads to Shavuot. I believe translations have misled us in that count but I’ll let that go for another day saying nothing more than to quote the Farrar Fenton Bibe translation of Leviticus 23:15-16, which according to Lunar Sabbath reckoning adds up to just over 100 days, making Shavuot a Summer festival.
“You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath that you bring the Wave-sheaf, seven Sabbaths. They must be complete. Then after the seventh Sabbath, you shall count fifty days, when you shall present a new offering to the EVER-LIVING. (Leviticus 23:15-16 Farrar Fenton Bible)
I would like to just mention though that Shavuot requires another First Fruits offering but this time it is of the newly harvested wheat. And of course Messiah Yahusha fulfills Shavuot in that He once again ascends to heaven as the First Fruits offering of the wheat on Shavuot after having visited His followers for 40 days providing many infallible proofs that He was indeed alive after His crucifixion. What is the significance of that you ask? Messiah Yahusha is also the First Fruits of the Elect, those of the 1st Resurrection, i.e. the Royal Priesthood!
I am an ardent believer in Messiah Yahusha as THE SAVIOR OF THE WHOLE WORLD, eventually including every man, woman and child that has ever known life in the history of mankind. That is THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL and for all intents and purposes it hasn’t been preached for over 1500 years!
1Co 15:22 For as all die in Aḏam, so also all shall be made alive in Messiah.
Believe it and preach it Brothers and Sisters! Be blessed this Yom HaBikkurim, the Day of First Fruits and the Resurrection of our endlessly merciful Creator, Redeemer and Savior!
Hi Ken,
Do you have a quick sketch timeline of how Yahshua fulfilled the feasts according to the full moon method of reckoning time? Since Yahshua was with His disciples 40 days after His resurrection, and then asked them to wait in Jerusalem to receive the gift of the Ruach, most people assume they waited 10 days which then equals 50, and that is why the Feast is also called Pentecost. Isn't this why so many folks have placed Shavuot earlier in the spring? I can't see clearly how counting an extra 50 days from the 7th Sabbath after the Feast of Unleavened Bread lines up with Yahshua's instructions to the disciples. Did they wait in the upper room for…
