Experience the Joy
of Observing the
Full Moon Rosh Chodesh Beacon!
If a picture is worth a thousand words, what would a ‘personal experience’ with YHWH, our Rock and Redeemer be worth?
Every time I experience the Full Moon rising above the horizon to beacon Rosh Chodesh I am overcome…
“Thank you Father…” whispers from deep within my being.
It’s an ‘I AM’ moment…
It’s a ‘SPIRIT filled’ experience…
It’s a ‘CREATOR’S COSMOLOGICAL CALENDAR’ communiqué…
“HalleluYAH!” will echo from the valley and surrounding hills as I raise my voice, bellowing praises across the countryside as few have ever heard me!
Brothers and Sisters… Seeing is Believing!
I am spiritually and emotionally moved every time I witness the Full Moon rise to mark the beginning of a New Month. It is at that moment that I know beyond a shadow of doubt, deep down in my soul, though I am only one amongst 7 billion others that make up mankind; the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE is talking directly to me.
And Elohim said, “let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years, and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth.” And it came to be so. And Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night, and the stars. And Elohim set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And Elohim saw that it was good. And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, the fourth day. (Genesis 1:14-19 Scriptures ’98)
When YHWH speaks of the ‘TWO GREAT LIGHTS’ in this incredibly important portion of Scripture He does so in a single breath drawing a comparison between the Sun and the Moon, The Greater and the Lesser Light. There is ‘one and only one’ phase of the Moon that qualifies as a ‘GREAT LIGHT’ that ‘RULES THE NIGHT’ and there are no close, second place finishers! The Full Moon as the ‘Lesser of the TWO GREAT LIGHTS’ is the only phase of the Moon that is comparable to the Sun, which is the ‘Greater of the TWO GREAT LIGHTS’. The Full Moon is the only phase of the Moon that rules the night from beginning to end, no other phase of the Moon even comes close! To borrow a basketball term, despite the strongholds of manmade ‘tradition’, Full Moon Rosh Chodesh is a Scriptural ‘slam dunk’!
The evening the 1st Full Moon rises in the constellation Virgo to beacon the beginning of a New Year is even more special! The events of that particular evening remind me of these two verses, there is something here we can all learn from.
“Guard the new moon of Abib, and perform the Pēsah to YHWH your Elohim, for in the new moon of Abib YHWH your Elohim brought you out of Mitsrayim by night.” (Deuteronomy 16:1 The Scriptures 2009)
“Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day.” (Psalm 81:3 The Scriptures ’98)
What is it to “Guard the new mooon of Abib”?
Does it have anything to do with Exodus 12:1-2?
And YHWH spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon in the land of Mitsrayim, saying, “This new moon is the beginning of new moons for you, it is the first new moon of the year for you.” (Exodus 12:1-2 The Scriptures ’98)
What is it to “Guard the new moon of Abib”?
After the Golden Calf incident and 40 years of wandering in the wilderness YHWH amended the covenant given on Mt. Sinai. In Deuteronomy 5 we have The Ten Words Covenant in its amended form, it is interesting that this is how YHWH chose to be remembered from that point forward.
‘I am YHWH your Elohim who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of bondage. You have no mighty ones against My face.” (Deuteronomy 5:6-7 The Scriptures ’98)
The new moon of Abib is when YHWH freed the Israelite slaves from their Egyptian bondage. That is what makes this new moon of Abib so important just as Deuteronomy 16:1 told us! That is why we should “Guard the new moon of Abib”!
Clearly the first ten verses of Psalm 81 are a reference to Exodus 12. I have come to conclude that Psalm 81:3 is helping us to acknowledge the need to “Guard the new moon of Abib” by blowing the Shofar on the Full Moon, the New Moon that marks the beginning of the Month of Abib and the New Year! That particular evening when these events beacon the next day as the 1st Day of the Month of Abib and New Year’s Day is a special moment when the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, THE GREAT ‘I AM’ is talking to us!
The heavens are proclaiming the esteem of El;
And the expanse is declaring the work of His hand.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, and there are no words,
Their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.
In them He set up a tent for the sun,
And it is like a bridegroom coming out of his room,
It rejoices like a strong man to run the path.
Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the other end;
And naught is hidden from its heat.
The Torah of YHWH is perfect, bringing back the being;
The witness of YHWH is trustworthy, making wise the simple;
The orders of YHWH are straight, rejoicing the heart;
The command of YHWH is clear, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of YHWH is clean, standing forever;
The right-rulings of YHWH are true,
They are righteous altogether,
More desirable than gold,
Than much fine gold;
And sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.
Also, Your servant is warned by them,
In guarding them there is great reward.
Who discerns mistakes?
Declare me innocent from those that are secret,
Also keep Your servant back from presumptuous ones,
Do not let them rule over me.
Then shall I be perfect, and innocent of great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be pleasing before You,
O YHWH, my rock and my redeemer.
(Psalm 19 The Scriptures ’98)
Indeed! Our ABBA is talking to us via the Sun, Moon and Stars!
There is an old short story that talks about a young girl seeking the attention of her father; it goes something like this.
“Daddy…”
“Yes”, he says as he stares at the television.
“Daddy…”
“Yes”, he says as he continues to stare at the television.
“Daddy…”
“Yes, I hear you!” he says still staring at the television.
“No Daddy, speak to me with your eyes!”
I think you get the point, the child knew unless she had her Daddy’s eyes she really didn’t have his attention, or his esteem.
Now turn the story around…
ABBA is seeking your attention and He knows He doesn't have it if you're withholding your eyes! That is what Psalm 19 is saying! Esteem your Father with your eyes, let Him know He has your attention and He’ll 'show and tell' you wonderful things according to His Heavenly Proclamation!
This is the Creator’s Cosmological Calendar!
This is the beginning of Torah Observance!
So let me ask the question again…
If a picture is worth a thousand words, what would a ‘personal experience’ with YHWH, our Rock and Redeemer be worth?
A friend and Facebook group member sent this message and video to me on New Year’s Eve, April 4th 2015 after witnessing the Full Moon rise to mark The New Year. I was moved to tears by this friend’s message and the nature of this rendition of the Aharonic Blessing. No tallits, no grand standing, just unpretentious beauty! Truly, this friend’s eloquent message and video represent everything I could ever hope for the website, it is a standard to strive for!
Ken,
I’m filled with such joy and peace on this wonderful night, that I thought I would bless you with this song.
May Abba guide your steps in everything that you say and do in this coming year….
Shalom, shalom…
The tears flowed because I sensed the author of the note above ‘gets it’ and had experienced the joy and peace of His presence as the heavens declared His esteem through the Sun, Moon and Stars beaconing the 1st Rosh Chodesh of the New Year!
I was richly blessed by this message and video and now I send it out to you! Be blessed Brothers and Sisters as you come and go, may the Ruach HaKodesh lead you as you strive to know and keep the Father’s ways! Amein!
Now, make it a point to personally go out and watch for the first Full Moon to rise AFTER the sun has set. You don’t want to miss this!
