Discerning The True 7th Day Sabbath of Yeshua!
PART 1
The Introduction

He created the Sabbath… commanded the Sabbath… and kept the Sabbath. Then He challenged you…
“If you love Me, keep My commands.”
(John 14:15 Scriptures ’98)
To the seeker of Truth it all begs the question, “When is the Sabbath of Yeshua?”
In this article I’ll be talking about ‘TIME’ as measured by The One who created it. I could as easily have titled this article, ‘The Creator’s Cosmological Calendar’ for the Author of time measures time according to the Sun, Moon and Stars! Or… maybe I should have named the article ‘Time According to The Author of Time!’ since no other measurement of time matters. Nevertheless I’ve chosen the title THE MASTER’S CLOCK ~ Discerning The True 7th Day Sabbath of Yeshua! because the 7th Day Sabbath is 'a sign' between YHWH and His people and Yeshua is THE MASTER of that sign! As I strive to know, understand and apply ‘the faith once delivered unto the Saints’ I have come to realize that ‘The 10 Words Covenant’ recorded in ‘The Book of the Covenant’ makes up the terms of THE NEW COVENANT, which is an entirely New Covenant, it is not Re-Newed as many teach. Those terms are kept via a Spirit driven love. A picture of THE NEW COVENANT faith will be a reflection of ‘The 10 Words Covenant’ kept out of our love for Messiah Yeshua, our Creator and Redeemer!
In ‘THE MASTER’S CLOCK ~ Discerning The True 7th Day Sabbath of Yeshua!’ I will attempt to shed some light on the 4th Commandment. Once a person elevates ‘The 10 Words Covenant’ to the degree that I have in my faith it becomes imperative that we understand beyond a shadow of doubt the fullness of each of these commandments.
Why in the world would I think there is a need for an article in regard to the 4th Commandment, it seems pretty simple… right?
Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God; you shall not do any work – you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it. (Exodus 20:8-11 NRSV)
In Deuteronomy ‘The 10 Words Covenant’ is amended and the 4th Commandment is rendered this way.
Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God; you shall not do any work – you, or your son or your daughter, or your male or female slave, or your ox or your donkey, or any of your livestock, or the resident alien in your towns, so that your male and female slave may rest as well as you. Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day. (Deuteronomy 5:12-15 NRSV)
On its face it seems pretty simple, work six days and rest on the seventh day… right?
So what would cause me to think we are mindlessly committing sin, as I do, when it comes to the 4th Commandment?
What are we doing wrong?
The problem lies within…
THE HUGE ASSUMPTION!
And what could that possibly be?
THE HUGE ASSUMPTION is the belief that Pope Gregory XIII’s 7th Day of the Week of the Roman Catholic Church calendar, which all nations use today including the Jews, extends backwards in time via an 'unbroken chain of 7 day weekly cycles’ all the way back to the beginning of creation and that the 7th Day of the RCC is the 7th Day of Yeshua the Messiah who is the Master of the Sabbath!
Let’s consider this ‘unbroken chain of 7 Day weekly cycles’ for a moment with a simple exercise. The ancients counted their days according to sunrise and sunset, nothing new there, I’m only saying they didn’t have digital mechanisms to keep track of time.
According to Shlomo's Time!
With that established let’s, you and I, travel to Israel and meet up with our mutual Israeli friend Shlomo who will give us a tour of the country. When we meet with Shlomo we’re introduced to the country of Israel and we fall in love with everything we see. But… you and I are world travelers and there are other places that we’d like to visit and so we decide to travel around the world to see the sites the world has to offer. However, because we've fallen in love with Israel so much we agree to meet back in Jerusalem with Shlomo for the coming Passover in 8 weeks. In our planning you decide to travel eastward around the world and I decide to travel westward around the world. Time marches on as we both circumnavigate the globe, both of us keep perfectly accurate records of the sunrises and sunsets, marking each and every one in our day planners in order to assure that we arrive back at Jerusalem in a timely fashion to keep the Passover with Shlomo 8 weeks later.
You get back to Jerusalem first, just in time to meet with Shlomo and ask him if he has prepared the Passover meal. Shlomo looks you in the eye, somewhat in disbelief, and says, “Passover isn’t until tomorrow!” You answer, “No, Shlomo, today is Passover.” Two days later I get back to Jerusalem just in time to meet with Shlomo and ask him if he has prepared the Passover meal. Shlomo looks me in the eye, somewhat in disbelief, and says, “Passover was yesterday!” I protest saying, “No, Shlomo, today is Passover.”
What happened?
We both kept perfectly accurate records of the sunrises and sunsets and knew beyond a shadow of doubt that we had both returned to Jerusalem 8 weeks later and just in time to celebrate the Passover with Shlomo. But Shlomo says you were a day early and I was a day late! How can that be?
The answer lies in the fact that YHWH has put in place a dynamic mechanism for keeping time, an Earth that rotates! As you traveled eastward around the globe, traveling into the Sun, you were actually shortening your days so that an additional sunrise and sunset took place in relationship to Shlomo’s time. As I traveled westward around the globe, traveling away from the Sun, I was actually lengthening my days so that I lost a sunrise and sunset in relationship to Shlomo’s time. Meanwhile, Shlomo stayed put in Jerusalem and time remained unchanged for him.
This natural phenomenon creates a huge problem for the ‘unbroken chain of 7 Day weekly cycles’ theory. You cannot circumnavigate the globe of the Earth without either gaining or loosing time in relationship to a fixed location. Circumnavigate the globe and you will either gain a sunrise and sunset or lose a sunrise and sunset depending upon whether you headed East or West. It is a problem which has no fix in a world where time is kept according to ‘an unbroken chain of 7 Day weekly cycles’ and you reckon days according to sunrises and sunsets!
Although the same reality exists in the Lunar Sabbath method of time reckoning it is corrected at the end of each and every month when the New Moon Day resets the weekly cycle and brings everyone back in harmony regardless of your travels around the world. Knowing that we would have agreed to return to Jerusalem on a specific date according to the New Moon as observed from Jerusalem rather than agreeing to return in 8 weeks. In other words we must throw away the 'unbroken chain of 7 day weekly cycles' and look up to the heavens to mark time. Had you, Shlomo and I done that we would have all ate the Passover together on the 14th Day of the 1st Month according to THE MASTER’S CLOCK!
It is just so in the course of the history of mankind. There have been two instances when mankind was located at a single fixed position on the earth. Those two instances are when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden and when Noah, his wife and their sons and their wives got off the Ark when they had landed on the Mountains of Ararat after the Flood. From these two locations and these two different epochs of time mankind has migrated both eastward and westward to populate the Earth. If everyone kept perfect records of time according to sunrises and sunsets and an unbroken chain of 7 day weekly cycles, so much so, that they were willing to say unequivocally that a given day is the 7th Day Sabbath of Creation then you are going to have a tremendous conflict in regard to what day it actually is when these people engage each other on the other side of the planet!
Are you certain you want to float your boat on a sea of an 'unbroken chain of 7 day weekly cycles’ which supposedly extend all the way back to the beginning of creation?
I contend there is absolutely NOTHING held in common between YHWH’s method of keeping Time and that of Pope Gregory’s RCC calendar! I would further contend the very same thing must be said of the Jewish Hillel II calendar which calculates the movement of the moon using the wrong phase but then gets its 7th Day from Pope Gregory! An extraordinary statement… I know! It is a sad truth but truth nonetheless, Israel has been a nation of compromise from its very beginning!
According to the multitude of sources for information regarding calendar issues, many of which are used by both sides of a debate, there has been a web of such confusion sown that one is left to wonder, “When is the Sabbath and New Moons of Yeshua?”
What conclusions would we reach regarding when the Sabbaths of Yeshua occur if we chose to rely solely on the Scriptures of The Most High?
What if we disregarded Roman Catholic and Jewish tradition?
What if we chose to ignore all the study notes in our bibles?
What if we turned our backs on the so-called ‘higher criticism’ of the ‘enlightened ones’ of ‘higher learning’?
What if we paid no attention to historical writings and threw out all interpretations of archeological evidence and cultural perspectives?
What if we discounted, rejected, dismissed and relegated everything else to the back seat and let the Scriptures do the driving?
What conclusions would we draw from just the Scriptures, the Word of YHWH?
How would we mark the Sabbaths then?
What method would we use… if we used just the Scriptures?
